"I wholeheartedly recommend Michael Turner as a teacher. He’s like a mirror. He’s really direct in showing how one can get in their own way when it comes to realizing happiness and freedom for oneself. Shorty after meeting Michael, I realized he’s the real deal — he constantly practices what he speaks about. He refers to the foundations of the noble 8 fold path, the 4 noble truths, the 5 hindrances, etc. He’s also very big on sila as it is a necessary foundation for calm and insight. He’s very serious about the ending of suffering and dissatisfaction. He's also a big softy and uses good positive humor."

Buddhism can be really nebulous and challenging, so it is beneficial to talk with someone knowledgeable and trustworthy about your practice and the many questions that you have.

I provide training, coaching, and guidance that helps you make observable progress along the Buddhist path.  If you have a dedicated daily practice and possess a sincere desire to make real and measurable progress toward nibbāna, read on, as you've just stumbled onto a hidden gem tucked away in a niche corner of the internet.

Learn how to awaken by turning every moment into authentic practice.

I can help you attain progress toward your moment of awakening by helping you cut through the noise of contemporary Buddhism and carve out a personal practice that tightly focuses on the practices, views, and ideas that point directly toward stream-entry.  I can then help guide you toward continued progress through the stages of enlightenment.

Increase your contentment and peace of mind as you see yourself changing.

I will also work with you to recognise the views, practices, and habitual behaviours that hold you back from making the progress that you work so hard to achieve as we transition your dharma practice and your time spent in meditation into real-world application and practice.

You will learn how to effectively turn every challenging moment (e.g., anger, anxiety, insecurity) into another moment that you can practice Buddhist mind training (e.g., contentment, resilience, peace of mind).  This cultivates the skills, views, and practices that are actually required and supportive for spiritual growth.  This is the keystone to significantly accelerating your progress and making fundamental improvements to your life in ways that cannot otherwise be achieved without explicitly doing so.

Teaching people how to do this is exactly what I do, and it's what will lead you to your moment of entry into the Buddhist stages of enlightenment.

What I offer is very special.

This isn't hocus pocus; this requires genuine effort.
And, while it certainly isn't for everyone, if it's for you... it's going to change your life.

Your Applied-Dharma Trainer and Buddhist Coach:
Michael Turner f.k.a. Anagārika Pasannacitta

Michael Turner (f.k.a. Anagārika Pasannacitta)
Hello! My name is Michael Turner (my Dhamma name is Pasannacitta). I am a sakadāgāmi, an early Buddhist enlightenment mentor, a Buddhist therapist, and a Dharma coach.  I was a Buddhist anagārika for eight years and I've spent more than 30 years learning and cultivating what I do; what I do goes far beyond meditation and dharma.  I work with dedicated Buddhist practitioners — of all levels — teaching them how to attain measurable spiritual progress toward nibbāna. This special kind of one-on-one training isn't readily available to lay practitioners, and I hope to do my part for as long as I can.
Please review my about me page to learn more about my style and what it is that I teach.

Reviews from People Like You.

"My sessions with Michael were truly an invaluable experience. His deeply intuitive nature and his insights into the dharma and the business world directly helped me make many positive steps to advance my professional career and my personal life in ways that I wouldn't have expected from a meditation or Buddhist coach and he has become a trusted executive advisor to me."
- Robert H.
"Following our most recent session together, something Michael said triggered a major breakthrough, when an old habit pattern that I was wearing like a shield finally came undone."
- C. Howell
"Anagarika Passanacitta's insight on how to apply the teachings to my everyday life was direct and surprisingly on point. I now understand concepts I spent so much effort trying to get before."
- Veronica T.
"With Michael help I learned that meditation and dharma go deeper than I ever imagined and how I can use them to practice my off-the-cushion ability to take a step back when a judgment or a strong emotion suddenly arrives. I can see them coming now, as if I see it all from a distance and I no longer react to my anger and frustration which too often had drawn me into conflicts over and over again."
- Andy D.
"Anagarika Michael is kind, patience, and compassionate but he is also direct and doesn't let me make any excuses or buy into any of my own stories. We got back on the mat together and I learned a lot from him. I would suggest him to anybody who is having a hard time with "the practical application of Buddhism" or their motivation to meditate."
- Mike P.
"Michael helped me actually understand the point of using dharma instead of just reading and knowing it and to use it as part of my meditation. I can breathe again and handle my stress and problems much better."
- Kevin T.
